Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health comes as the boxing community shared condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
